Cae is the carrier of V'Arikor's original purpose, rejected and separated by him in favor of bloodthirst and death. He carries the balance of B'Arivoi's power of life, handling the gates of death with grace and honor that his Other could not bear. As the last shred of "good" in V'Arikor's soul, he can do little evil himself.
