Aibu is Soni's shadow; who he is supposed to be, and yet isn't. He's talented, strong and fair. In the storyline, he helped Imani survive the desert in between her former home and the Pride Lands. He fought the young lioness when she was hunting for food and knocked her out with a sharp kick; he stayed nearby, however, and led her to a water hole to let her fish for something.
He was also created to replace Soni in a breeding experiment; As much as I wanted quagga hybrid babies, Soni does not want a family.
